What is Muconase™ 0.65% solution for nasal spray?
Sodium Chloride 0.65% solution (Muconase™) is a nasal spray composed of saline solution that duplicates the physiological saline component of normal nasal secretions.
Sodium Chloride 0.65% solution (Muconase™) acts safely to wash and humidify the air passages in the nose and also helps maintain and restore normal moisture of the nasal mucous membranes.
Sodium Chloride 0.65% solution (Muconase™) provides a convenient and practical method of washing and clearing nasal passages of dusts, dirt, crusted mucus, pollens, pollutants, allergens, and other irritants. It loosens thick nasal mucus secretions to facilitate their removal from the nose and sinuses. It also restores and maintains vital moisture to provide relief for dry, crusted, irritated and inflamed nasal membranes due to colds, allergies, low humidity, use of steroid nasal spray, overuse of topical nasal decongestants and other nasal solutions, chronic sinusitis, or rebound sinus reaction from smog.
Sodium Chloride 0.65% solution(Muconase ) helps relieve nasal irritation, congestion and pressure that accompany common cold, allergy, sinusitis and other disorders affecting the nasal passages.
What is Muconase™ 0.65% solution for nasal spray used for?
Muconase™ 0.65% solution for nasal spray is used to:
- Liquefy and loosen crusted or accumulated mucus.
- Help restore moisture to dry or congested nasal passages associated with:
- Colds, runny nose, allergies
- Dry air from cold weather or airplane flights
- Dust, pollutants
- Overuse of nasal decongestants/sterile nasal spray
- Use of steroid nasal spray
- Post-nasal drip
- Epistaxis
- Rebound sinus reaction from drugs and smog
- Provide natural relief of nasal congestion due to dry, irritated, crusty or inflamed nasal passages, low humidity, heat, environmental factors and air travel.
How should Muconase™ 0.65% solution be used as a nasal spray?
Apply 2 – 4 sprays in each nostril 3 times a day or as necessary.
You may use a cotton bud to remove excess mucus. Use a clean cotton swab to wipe the tip of the dropper after each use
When should you not take Muconase™ 0.65% solution for nasal spray?
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any constituent of the formulation.
What care or precautions should be observed when taking Muconase™ 0.65% solution for nasal spray?
Do not share Muconase™ 0.65% solution for nasal spray with others; this may lead to contamination and infection.
What are the undesirable side effects of Muconase™ 0.65% solution for nasal spray?
Sodium Chloride 0.65% solution (Muconase ) or nasal spray is completely safe but it may induce transient sneezing or stinging upon application. It is not significantly metabolized in the body and the effects are localized to the nasal passages.
What other medicines or food should be avoided while taking Muconase™ 0.65% solution for nasal spray?
Sodium Chloride 0.65% solution (Muconase ) for nasal spray is generally safe for use with food or medicine. Sodium Chloride 0.65% solution (Muconase ) has no serious side effects and can be safely used along with other medicines.
Sodium Chloride 0.65% solution (Muconase ) is drug-free and contains no irritating chemical components. It has no drug interactions and can be used concomitantly with any cold, allergy and sinus medications. However, inform your physician if you are taking other medicines especially drugs that have similar uses as this product or that may possibly be interfered by this product.
What should you do if you miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, you must take it as soon as possible. Do not double the next dose to make up for the missed one. You may skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule if it is almost due for the next dose.
What are the signs and symptoms of overdose and what to do when you have taken more than the recommended dosage?
There have been no reports of overdosage with the use of this solution. However, if you experienced any signs and symptoms while using this agent you should immediately consult or tell your physician.
How should Muconase™ 0.65% solution for nasal spray be stored?
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30 C. Keep the medicine out of reach of children.
When should you consult your doctor?
Generally, any untoward adverse effects experienced with Muconase™ 0.65% solution for nasal spray such as itching o persistent stinging should immediately be reported to your doctor. Other questions pertaining to the use of this product could also be addressed to your doctor.
