Sodium ascorbate is a non-acidic and a stomach friendly form of Vitamin C. Sodium ascorbate is a form of vitamin C that is buffered or neutralized with sodium, thus it will not cause adverse reactions encountered with taking ascorbic acid such as gastrointestinal irritation and bloating. Pro-C tablet protects against the gastric irritating effects of ascorbic acid while it delivers the same benefits of vitamin C to the human body.
Vitamin C, a widely used water-soluble vitamin, is known for its numerous health benefits. Vitamin C plays a vital role as a co-factor in a variety of bodily functions and is among the most essential nutrients needed for tissue building. It helps in the formation of mature and firm collagen, the intercellular cement substance that binds body cells together to form strong tissues. Vitamin C is therefore important in building body tissues and in the maintenance of healthy skin, gums and teeth, bones, blood vessel walls and other connective tissues
It is also known to increase body resistance to illnesses by enhancing the immune system. Vitamin C also protects the body cells against the damaging effects of harmful substances called free radicals.
Vitamin C is also known for its antioxidant properties. Vitamin C protects the body cells against damaging effects of harmful substances called free radicals. Numerous researchers have also underscored the role of vitamin C in regulating blood cholesterol metabolism.
